  • Again another bus ride, but these are probably the best roads we have been on in Europe.
  • They might be good roads, but I think we made a wrong turn.
  • More of the colorful flowers of the area.
  • It doesn't look like much, but these ruins were where animal sacrifices were made.
  • Hopefully not one of his relatives.
  • We toured these old ruins but it is difficult to show the magnitude of the area. We are standing on the bottom of a large cave complex that was created by slaves. This is a piller that supported the roof, that has since collapsed. It's over 200 ft high!
  • The roof of the caves was where you see the top of the wall.
  • They turned some of the area into gardens.
  • When the roof colapsed, this part landed against this other rock so they created the walkway under it.
  • This is one of the storage caverns that they used to store supplys.
  • This was another cave system. The small cave it the right is where they had created an seperate tunnel to supply water to the area. There is actually another working aqua tunnel that is still supplies water.
  • To give an ideo to the size of some of these caves compared to the size of the people.

  • We kept seeing cats resting.

  • We then came to the amphitheater with this old building on a rock formation.
  • They are currently renovating the theater and attempting to mix old with new.

  • Some of the original caves at the amphitheater. These were owned by wealthy families and used to keep cool during breaks in the plays.
